Earthquake Rattles Riverside County Tuesday: Did You Feel It?
A small quake struck east of Temecula Tuesday morning.
BORREGO SPRINGS, CA — The U.S. Geological Survey reports a 3.2 magnitude earthquake struck near Southwest Riverside County awake overnight. Though not enough to cause worry, you may have found yourself or your pets awake in the middle of the night.
The tremor shook just after 2:15 a.m. Tuesday and the U.S. Geological Survey estimated the center near Borrego Springs in San Diego County.
The quake's center was mapped at just over 9 miles northeast of Borrego Springs and was about 6 miles deep. It was centered 36.6 miles south of La Quinta, 27.4 miles south of Coachella, and 30.1 miles south of Indio.

The earthquake was felt as far as Oceanside and Escondido, as well as across the unincorporated areas around Southwest Riverside County, including Temecula and Murrieta.
There were no reports of damage or injuries due to the quake.
