
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A magnitude 3.0 earthquake shook parts of Riverside County on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reports. It was recorded at 4:31 p.m local time near Aguanga.
The temblor was located just over 4 miles below the earth's surface and was centered approximately:
- 6.2 mi ENE of Aguanga
- 7.5 mi SW of Anza
- 9.9 mi NNE of Palomar Observatory
- 16.2 mi NNW of Warner Springs
- 27.3 mi SSW of Palm Springs
The quake was reported shortly after some residents thought there was a quake, but it turned out to be an explosion at Camp Pendleton.
