Last Week to View Community Youth Art at Merc Gallery

The City of Temecula's annual community art show "Temecula Creates" has had a new and unique twist this year. Local Cartoonist and Graphic Designer, Tony Moramarco, of Bigfoot Graphics is showcasing all of the entries for his year-end art contest "Chibify 2011." Students of Tony's various community art classes were tasked with creating the short, cute cartoon version of someone or something not known for being short and cute. Chibi is a popular cartooning style, originating in Japan, that has influenced many popular movies, TV shows and video games. Some famous chibi characters are Mario, Sonic and Pikachu.

Congratulations to ALL of the finalists and the WINNER!
Madelyn Van Bebber's chibi Wizard of Oz scene was selected as the overall prize winner.

Contest finalists were also announced:
Jay R., Libby M., Mina S., Amanda J., Hannah K., Shane I., Sarah O., Bryce D., Mary R., Malika N., Jessica B., Charli B., Sadie T., Michelle H., Felicia M., Davis F., Alyse S., Christian G., Francesca M., Chandler J. & Tristan Y.
