Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley will honor World Habitat Day with store events and a free community movie.
The day will begin with storewide sales at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore locations in and . These discount home improvement stores and donation centers offer new and donated items at up to 70% off retail prices. Merchandise includes appliances, furniture, carpet, wallpaper, tools and more.
Then, at 6 p.m., Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley will serve free beverages and appetizers at the theater, before they screen the movie "Slumdog Millionaire." There will also be aa brief presentation on the global efforts of Habitat for Humanity. The movie is rated R and should not be viewed by children under the age of 17.
The purpose of world Habitat Day is to call attention to the need for adequate housing for everyone.
