Having been compared by music critics to Prince, Teddy Pendergrass, Bobby Womack, Chaka Khan, and Jimmi Hendrix, John Carlos Demps was born in Detroit, Michigan. John's uncle, Larry Demps, is a member of the classic soul group the "Dramatics." His father, John Demps Sr., is a distinguished poet, singer/songwriter.
As a youngster, John began performing with his mother and two sisters in a Gospel group. This strong Gospel family environment, flavored with his passion for R&B and his love for Rock music is what makes John's style so capitivating. John has performed with several bands for last 15 years, and he'll be at Cellarz93 to help you enjoy a magical Valentine's Day!
