Fire Breaks Out In Temecula Home

Fire officials say the blaze caused approximately $75,000 in damages.

TEMECULA, CA — A fire ripped through part of a Temecula home on Monday night, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages, fire officials report.

The blaze was reported at 10:27 p.m. in the 44500 block of Cayenne Trail, near Temecula Parkway and Butterfield Stage Road, according to Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.

"The first arriving engine company reported a working fire in the garage of a two story home," Hagemann said.

Twenty firefighters were sent to the scene, along with sheriff's officials for "crowd control."

Crews contained the fire to the home's garage at 10:43 p.m., Hagemann said. She estimated damages at $75,000 and said that approximately $300,000 in property was saved.
