Heat Advisory Issued For Temecula As Weather Turns Hot Again
The heat wave is forecast to last through the weekend.
TEMECULA, CA — A heat advisory has been issued for Temecula and surrounding Southwest Riverside County cities as high pressure to the east will continue a warming trend through the weekend, with hotter and drier conditions across the region.
The heat advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. Thursday through 9 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service reported.
During the four-day heat wave, daytime high temperatures are forecast to reach the low 100s in some parts of Southwest Riverside County with overnight temperatures in the low 70s.

More torrid conditions are forecast in the Coachella Valley, where an excessive heat warning was issued Wednesday that stretches through 9 p.m. Sunday. Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 114 are forecast throughout the period, according to the NWS.
The San Gorgonio Pass Area is also under an excessive heat warning Wednesday that extends through Sunday, with daytime highs forecast to hit 110, the NWS reported.

"Extreme heat will significantly increase the potential for heat-related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities," the NWS warned. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
"Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances," the agency continued. "Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke."
