Earthquake Rattles Parts Of San Diego County, Inland Empire

WARNER SPRINGS, CA — An overnight earthquake rattled parts of San Diego and the Inland Empire early Wednesday.

The magnitude 3.6 quake struck at 12:31 a.m. about 8 miles north of Warner Springs in northern San Diego County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The small quake had a depth of about 3 miles.

People in Carlsbad, Escondido, Fallbrook, Oceanside, Valley Center and as far south as central San Diego reported feeling the earthquake, according to USGS's "Did You Feel It" citizen science tool. The quake was felt across the Inland Empire, including in Anza, Cathedral City, Hemet, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Palm Desert, Perris and San Jacinto.

There were no reports of damage and injuries.
