Lost Dog In Temecula Found! Neighborhood Rallies To Help 'Cabbie'
Chardonnay Hills residents searched their Temecula neighborhood after a dog was frightened out of its yard during Wednesday's thunderstorm.

TEMECULA, CA — A Temecula family resorted to social media after their dog, Cabbie, a black and white dog, escaped from their Chardonnay Hills home Wednesday during the thunderstorm. She was found nearly 24 hours later, her owner reported. A concerned and invested Next Door member shared the dog is improving as of Friday afternoon.
"Cabbie is fighting strong!" she wrote. Her vitals are better and almost normal. She has gotten up to drink water, though she suffered multiple broken ribs and a jaw fracture. "Please keep Cabbe in your prayers."
A GoFundMe was established to raise funds for the dog's medical care, which includes treating broken ribs and wounds left from what veterinarians surmise was a coyote attack.

Over 40 residents took to the streets, hoping to find the little dog. Neighbors were most concerned about coyote sightings in the area.
A Next Door conversation starter Brisa C. helped monitor the search on the messageboard app, and notified all searching that the dog was found at almost 1 a.m. Friday morning.
She was found at the corner of La Serena and Butterfield Stage Road, bleeding from the face and suffering dehydration. "She became slightly more coherent when we arrived at the ER and they took her immediately to the back."
Brisa thanked a woman in a white Tesla and another in a Jeep who provided the last sighting. Her latest condition has not yet been released.
"Poor precious little Cabbie has been on one heck of an adventure the past few days," Next Door reader Lori M. wrote. "I'm so relieved and happy to read this I could cry."
Temecula resident Jeannie Wright wrote that after searching and failing to find Cabbie during the day, she went and bought an Apple Air Tag for her dog, Buddy.
"I never want to be in this position," she said. "I've worried about Cabbie for two days." She witnessed a large coyote during the search.
