Man Killed In De Luz Motorcycle Crash
CHP officials say the man's motorcycle landed on top of him following the fatal wreck.
TEMECULA, CA — The CHP Temecula Area is investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 72-year-old man this week.
The crash happened around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday as the man was riding a 2015 Indian Roadmaster motorcycle along Sycamore Creek Drive, near Avenida de Oro, in an unincorporated community known as De Luz, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lassig.
"[The motorcyclist] failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle," Lassig said in a news release. "[He] was ejected off of his motorcycle and landed on the dirt shoulder where his motorcycle came to rest on top of him."

It's unclear at this time how fast the man was going when he crashed, but Lassig said "the CHP would like to remind all motorist and riders to maintain a safe speed and have a high visual horizon, which will help your ability to slow down or stop when needed to avoid a collision."
