• Temecula Hosting 9/11 Remembrance On 25th Anniversary Of Terrorist Attacks (patch.com) — Temecula residents are invited to a 25th anniversary 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Friday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 7 p.m. on the front steps of City Hall. The program will feature remarks from city officials, a video tribute, and music by Great Oak High School's Jazz Ensemble, with Mayor Jessica Alexander highlighting the ongoing importance of honoring victims and first responders.
   

• Dr. Roger W. Schultz Honored With Emeritus Title For 25 Years Of Service To MSJC (patch.com) — Temecula-area readers will see how Mt. San Jacinto College's longtime leader, Dr. Roger W. Schultz, is being honored with an emeritus title as a legacy fund tops $120,000. With major support from the City of Temecula and local healthcare partners, most of the money will endow the future University Center at MSJC's Temecula Valley campus, expanding higher education access locally.
   

• Red Lobster shutting down Palm Desert location, employees learn Monday (kesq.com) — If you usually drive to Palm Desert for Red Lobster, you'll soon be heading to Temecula or San Bernardino instead, as the Palm Desert restaurant is closing in early September. Employees say they were just informed, and the chain is trimming locations nationwide as part of its post-bankruptcy cost-cutting plans.
