Pechanga's Giant Job Fair Continues Friday
The resort is hiring hundreds of new employees and the in-person hiring events started Thursday.

TEMECULA, CA – More than 1,000 people were expected to line up for interviews Thursday and Friday at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, where hundreds of permanent positions need to be filled. It's all part of the massive hiring spree ahead of the $285 million resort expansion, which is expected to open by the end of the year.
Interested applicants began lining up before 6 a.m. Thursday, resort officials tell Patch.
The casino announced earlier this month that they are looking to fill some 560 positions in the hotel and food & beverage divisions which pay from $10.50 per hour, the California minimum wage, and up.

On Thursday June 15 and and Friday June 16, a "large-scale" hiring fair is being held at the resort. Those interested in the hotel division headed to the June 15 event, while those interested in food and beverage will head to the June 16 event. Both events will run from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and will include on-site interviews.
"We’re making this job fair unique so we can entice the best applicants who are looking to get in with a best in class employer like Pechanga is," said Janet Borland, Pechanga Human Resources Talent Manager. "We’re making ourselves available at times more convenient to our applicants, there will be interactive activities for job seekers to do while they wait, and we could start extending employment offers as soon as the following Monday."

Borland expects between 800 and 1,000 applicants to attend the fairs over the two days. Those who come will be treated to some fun, as well.
"Hotel division job fair attendees can play on a putting green, get chair massages from Spa Pechanga masseuses, and more on June 15," organizer say. "Food and Beverage department applicants can taste some of Pechanga chefs’ award-winning food and watch chef presentations at the job fair on June 16."
"This is great news for Riverside County," said Carrie Harmon, Deputy Director of Riverside County’s Workforce Development Division. “This announcement demonstrates Pechanga Resort & Casino’s presence as a large-scale employer and an economic driver for the Southwest region. Most importantly, this job fair, which is one of the largest employer recruitments this year, will provide job opportunities for over 500 residents. That’s a win for all of us."
Those interested in a position are encouraged to head to Pechanga.com/careers to apply online first. You can also head to a hiring event if you can't apply online. Most positions require that the applicant be 21, but some are available to those 18 and up.
Additional hiring events are planned on July 12 for food & beverage, on July 19 for hotel staff and on Aug. 9 for both food & beverage and hotel staff.
