TEMECULA, CA — A man accused of DUI was arrested Wednesday in Temecula after fleeing from authorities via both a vehicle and foot pursuit before he was eventually caught, police said.

It all started around 1:45 p.m. in the area of Meadows Parkway and Leena Way with a reported possible DUI, according to sheriff's Dep. Robyn Flores.

"Deputies were in the area on an unrelated call and witnessed the vehicle collide into a guardrail in the area of De Portola Road and Butterfield Stage Road," she said in an emailed statement to Patch. "Deputies attempted to conduct a stop of the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to yield and a short pursuit ensued."
