SWR Man ID'd As Body Found In Cleveland National Forest

The 31-year-old was discovered by a hiker Saturday near Ortega Highway, and a homicide investigation is underway, officials said.

LAKE ELSINORE, CA — The body of a possible murder victim, found by a hiker over the weekend in the Cleveland National Forest, today was identified as Frery Coronel, 31, of Wildomar, according to officials.

Coronel's body was found at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday off South Main Divide Road about three miles south of State Route 74, and, "based on trauma found on the victim," a homicide investigation was launched, said Sgt. Ben Ramirez of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and the crime scene was secured, deputies said.
