Temecula Church Hosts Blessing Of Animals, Rescue Pet Fair In October

Your dogs, cats, fish, birds, reptiles, terrapins and mammals are invited to St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church in October.

TEMECULA, CA — All are invited to Temecula's St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church for the annual Blessing of the Animals event. Leashed, crated, or "fish bowled" pets and their owners were invited to attend the outdoor worship service scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 14, at 44651 Avenida de Missiones, in Temecula.

Each year, the Episcopal Church in Temecula shows its heart for all creatures, great and small.

The church's annual Blessing of the Animals honors St. Francis of Assisi and celebrates the human-animal bond, according to the church. The blessing service originates from a Roman Catholic tradition as part of the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.
