Temecula Murder Victim Identified as Local 24-Year-Old

The county coroner’s office has identified a young man gunned down in his doorway in Temecula.

24-year-old Justin Triplett died following the deadly shooting at 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Portafino Apartment complex in the 29900 block of Rancho California Road, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Triplett was found in his doorway with gunshot wounds, and died at the scene, according to the Riverside County sheriff’s and coroner’s departments.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests had been announced, nor has any information about a motive for the attack.

On Monday, police said Triplett likely knew his attacker.

“At this time it appears that the two parties involved may have known each other,” Sheriff’s Spokesman Deputy Amando Munoz told Patch.
