Temecula police remained on scene Monday afternoon at the location of a deadly shooting in an apartment complex, Patch is told.
The shooting, which happened before 10:30 a.m., prompted an earlier lockdown at multiple Temecula Valley Unified School District campuses, according to Sheriff’s Spokesman Deputy Amando Munoz.
“We are investigating a homicide,” Munoz said by telephone around 2 p.m.

Once on scene at the Portofino Apartments, a man was found shot dead, Munoz confirmed.
“At this time it appears that the two parties involved may have known each other,” he said.
It’s believed the suspect is currently at large, but Munoz stressed that authorities believe this was an ”isolated incident.” A suspect description wasn’t immediately available.
