Robinson, 64, was a well-known local singer/songwriter who worked for several years at Pete's Music & Guitar Shop in Old Town. A Fallbrook resident, he was known to play at and host open-mic nights for venues in Temecula, Fallbrook and San Diego, and recorded at least two solo albums.
The "Larry Robinson Music Fund" was established on GoFundMe shortly after his death.
"Who would tie up an old man and beat him to death for guitar strings?" the fundraiser page stated. "It is a question no person should have to ask. In light of this horrible event, it is important for everyone who was close to Larry to remember his light- his beautiful guitar playing, his soft spoken demeanor and wonderful smile."
