Hot Sauce Competition and Country Music Festival Bring the Heat to Thousand Oaks (citywatchla.com) — Thousand Oaks residents can gear up for a full day of hot sauce tastings and live country music when the 9th Annual Old Boney Mountain “Hot Summer Night” festival hits Janss Road on May 30. The fundraiser will feature international hot sauce competitions, people’s choice voting, raffles, food, drinks, and family-friendly entertainment, all benefiting children’s programs through the Old Boney Mountain Foundation for Kids.

Thousand Oaks man accused of labor trafficking 14-year-old in clothing resale scheme (foxla.com) — A Thousand Oaks resident has been charged with multiple felonies in a labor trafficking case involving a 14-year-old boy, with prosecutors alleging he exploited the teen in an online clothing resale operation. Authorities say the victim was eventually found safe, and investigators now suspect there may be additional victims across Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

NASA's Roman Poised to Transform Hunt for Elusive Neutron Stars (nasa.gov) — Thousand Oaks gets a brief but notable mention as home to Teledyne Scientific & Imaging, one of NASA’s key industrial partners on the upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. That mission will use precise gravitational microlensing measurements to uncover hidden neutron stars and even weigh them, potentially transforming how astronomers study dead stars and other compact objects scattered across our galaxy.
