• State approves 'Zone Zero' fire-safe landscaping rules, reshaping yards for millions of Californians (kentucky.com) — New state "Zone Zero" rules will reshape landscaping around homes in high fire-risk areas like Topanga, banning plants right next to houses and most combustibles within five feet. Homeowners here will get up to five years to comply, but new construction must meet the standards immediately, with enforcement handled by Cal Fire and local fire agencies.
