Traffic Advisory: Fatal Collision On Santiago And Hunters Way

A fatal collision Tuesday claimed the life of a male driver. Santiago Canyon Road was closed Tuesday for the investigation.

ORANGE, CA — An SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision on Santiago Canyon Road just east of Hunters Way on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Nov. 7, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an adult male driver lost control of his sedan for unknown reasons.

"He lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center median and collided into an oncoming SUV," Orange Police Department Sgt. Rob Thorsen said in release. "Orange Fire Paramedics responded to the collision."

The driver, whose name has been withheld, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

"The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," Thorsen said.

All lanes of Santiago Canyon Road between Amapola Avenue and Windes Drive are closed until further notice while police undergo their investigation, according to Thorsen.

"The Orange Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating," he said. Anyone with information should call the Orange Police Department at 714-744-7444.
