• Suspect in Merced County murder of DoorDash driver arrested in Woodland (newsbreak.com) — A Turlock man, 39-year-old Manuel Salceda, has been arrested in Woodland on suspicion of murdering DoorDash driver Javier Becerril Jr., whose body was found in a car trunk along State Route 152 in July. Investigators say evidence and surveillance footage tied Salceda, who allegedly used multiple identities, to what prosecutors describe as a calculated, premeditated killing. 
• Winton Shooting Suspects Caught in Turlock Hours After Manhunt Begins (newsbreak.com) — Turlock police helped end a regional manhunt by locating and detaining two people of interest in a Winton shooting just a day after the attack. Officers found the pair in Turlock around 11 p.m. Wednesday, and both were taken back to Merced County, where one faces an attempted murder booking and the other an accessory allegation.
