ā¢ Council adopts new communications plan (turlockjournal.com) ā Turlock residents can expect clearer, more targeted updates after the City Council unanimously adopted a new strategic communications plan, including a website redesign and expanded use of the city app. The plan aims to reach different audiences through online, print, and in-person channels while reflecting the strong community pride consultants heard during local interviews. The meeting also honored Fire Division Chief Michael Harcksen ahead of his August retirement.

Alumni and current students describe how interviewing, event coverage, and hands-on classes connect them with the campus and wider community while building skills for careers in media, broadcasting, and public speaking. ā¢ CA's first solar-covered canal is finally complete, and it all started at UC Merced (yourcentralvalley.com) ā A major clean-energy milestone just went live right here in Turlock: Californiaās first solar-covered canal is now generating electricity while helping cut water loss. Backed by a UC Merced study and $20 million in state funding, the project will be closely monitored and could shape how canals statewide are upgraded for a hotter, drier future. Ā Ā Ā
