• Hiker Finds Human Skull in ‘Remote Desert Area' in California (people.com) — Human remains were discovered Wednesday morning near Adobe Road and Baseline Road in Twentynine Palms, where a hiker found what appeared to be an adult human skull in a remote desert area. Sheriff’s investigators say the skull had been exposed for a long time and are now relying on forensic testing and potential missing persons reports to identify the remains. Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s department or We-Tip anonymously.
   

• 29-PSP to Host Fundraiser in Palm Desert Celebrating Two Years of Service (mynewsla.com) — A volunteer-run nonprofit that shuttles service members between Palm Springs and Ontario airports and the Twentynine Palms Marine base is holding a fundraiser lunch May 16 in Palm Desert. The event at Avondale Golf Club will feature entertainment, a silent auction, and lunch to support operating costs, insurance, and expanding free rides. Tickets are available by email or phone.
