UNION CITY, CA — A male motorist was arrested in Union City last week on firearms-related charges after he reportedly struck a female pedestrian with his car, pulled her inside his vehicle and drove off, according to officials.

Union City Police Department officers initially were called Thursday night to Alvarado-Niles Road and Western Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The incident then amped up with an update that the driver had a gun, pulled the injured party into his vehicle and drove from the scene, the department said.
