Coroner IDs Area Man Killed in Hwy 84 Weekend Accident

The 26-year-old died when his vehicle went into a drainage ditch, officials said. [BREAKING]

NEWARK, CA – A man who died when the car he was in crashed into a cement drainage outlet along state Highway 84 in Menlo Park early Saturday morning has been identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Ferguson, according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

Ferguson, a Newark resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 3:15 a.m. on the highway's eastbound lanes just east of Chilco Street, according to police.

Investigators determined Ferguson's vehicle had driven off the roadway and crashed into a drainage ditch along the highway, police said.

According to his Facebook profile, Ferguson had attended San Mateo High School in the past and he reportedly worked for Sony Interactive Entertainment.
