Fireworks Go On Sale July 1 In Union City
The fireworks will be available for 4 days, July 1 to 4.
UNION CITY, CA — Fireworks are an annual fundraiser for nonprofits in Union City. Fireworks vendors are allowed to sell "safe and sane" fireworks on July 1 to 4. Here are the hours set by the city:
- July 1: noon to 10 p.m.
- July 2: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- July 3: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- July 4: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fireworks are only allowed on private property, and cannot be set off east of Mission Boulevard. Fireworks are not allowed in parks, on school property, or in streets.You may set them off from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 1 to 3, and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on the 4th of July.

- 18,500 reported fires in the US each year stem from fireworks.
- It is suggested that you keep fireworks out of the hands of children and teens – as they account for nearly 25% of firework injuries.
- It is advised that you keep pets inside when fireworks are going off to prevent anxiety, and dispose of them quickly to avoid your pet ingesting used fireworks.
- It is recommended that you dispose of fireworks by soaking them in a bucket of water and placing them in a trash can away from any buildings or combustible materials.
