New Union City BART Station Entrance To Be Unveiled Friday

The new East entrance will be more convenient for thousands of riders.

UNION CITY, CA — The newly built East entrance of the Union City BART Station will be unveiled on Friday, May 12 at 11 a.m.

The new East entrance will provide residents of Union City’s Station District a direct path into the BART Station. The completion of this project marks a major milestone in the seventeen year effort to transform the once isolated BART Station with limited pedestrian access surrounded by vacant, environmentally-contaminated land, into a vibrant modern station with multiple points of pedestrian access to new housing.

The Station District now boasts 1,000 new housing units including 250 affordable family units. Windflower Properties, LLC will begin construction of an additional 450 housing units next year. Woodstock Development is planning to build 1.2 million square feet of campus-style office space that will attract good paying jobs to the area.
