• Pumpkin smashing adds a festive twist to Union City Little League softball (yourerie.com) — Union City families just wrapped up the third annual Pumpkin Smash softball tournament, giving Little League players a relaxed, Halloween-themed finale to their season. Twenty-five teams competed at the American Legion fields in Union City, smashing decorated pumpkins after each loss and enjoying costumes, camaraderie, and one last weekend of fun before looking ahead to next year's season.
