Pedestrian In Crosswalk Killed In Union City
The hit-and-run driver, a Fremont man, has been arrested, according to police.

UNION CITY, CA — A pedestrian in a crosswalk was killed in Union City Tuesday night, and police have arrested a Fremont man, accusing him of being the hit-and-run driver responsible for the woman's death. 29-year-old Mike Simpson Tanios has been taken into custody. The victim's name has not yet been released.
Police say the crash was reported at 9:04 p.m. on Alvarado Niles Road near Mann Avenue. The victim was crossing Alvarado Niles Road in the crosswalk when she was hit by an vehicle going eastbound. The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
