Russian Roulette Ends With Teen Shot In Chest
Four teens were playing a modified version of the dangerous game, pointing the gun at each other instead of at themselves.
UNION CITY, CA — A 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest at a Union City home on Wednesday, as the boy and three friends played a modified version of Russian Roulette. The boy is currently hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to survive. Another 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Negligent Discharge of a Firearm, both felonies. Union City Police have not released the names of any of the teens involved.
Police received a 911 call around 5:15 p.m. about the shooting, in the vicinity of Palmetto Drive and Butternut Court.
All of the teens remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police recovered the gun used in the shooting.
