Union City Check Fraud Suspects Arrested

Police believe they stole and cashed rent checks from their apartment building.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police arrested two check fraud suspects who were on probation for previous crimes.

It happened at the Sora Apartments on Alvarado Boulevard. Checks placed in the management office mail box in August were remoed and cashed.

According to the City, "Officer Parodi tracked down the two suspects who cashed the checks, and happen to live in the same complex. Because the couple was on probation, UCPD did a probation search of their apartment, which led the officers to find evidence connecting them to the crime."
