Union City Library Increases Hours On Thursday, Friday

UNION CITY, CA — Without reducing the number of hours that it is open each week, the Union City Library has shifted its focus to Thursdays and Fridays by increasing hours, and it is now closed on Mondays.

The change took effect in July. Here are the new hours:

• Sundays: Closed
• Mondays: Closed
• Tuesdays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Wednesdays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
• Thursdays: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
• Fridays: noon – 6 p.m.
• Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

"Libraries are more than places to borrow books or study," communications manager Alicia Reyes told Patch in an email. "They are creative and engaging spaces where people can collaborate and develop their skills and passions.

"Libraries strengthen communities and transform lives every day. From technology to workshops for job seekers to resources for English language learners, libraries provide a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of their communities. The Union City Library is located at 34007 Alvarado-Niles Road in Union City.
