Union City Library Increases Hours On Thursday, Friday

The library is open the same number of hours each week. It increased the hours on Thursday and Friday by closing on Mondays.

UNION CITY, CA — Without reducing the number of hours that it is open each week, the Union City Library has shifted its focus to Thursdays and Fridays by increasing hours, and it is now closed on Mondays.

The change took effect in July. Here are the new hours:

  • Sundays: Closed
  • Mondays: Closed
  • Tuesdays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Fridays: noon – 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

"Libraries are more than places to borrow books or study," communications manager Alicia Reyes told Patch in an email. "They are creative and engaging spaces where people can collaborate and develop their skills and passions.
