Union City Seniors Invited To Seniors’ Night Out

UNION CITY, CA — The Tri-City Elder Coalition will celebrate its 25th Seniors’ Night Out at the Doubletree Newark/Fremont on Friday, Oct. 5. The deadline for reservations is Sept. 20.

For many elders in the Tri-Cities, aging often means becoming disconnected from daily social networks with growing social isolation. This yearly anticipated event is the highlight for many older residents for whom a trip to the doctor might be the only opportunity to get outside their homes.

The seniors who get to glam up and party the night away are not the only ones loving this event. Many escorts, drivers, and sponsors are needed to create a magical evening that not only entertains folks for a night but also raises funds to continue the work of Tri-City Elder Coalition locally. It's not too late to be a sponsor, donate a raffle prize, or offer to escort a senior.

While the Tri-City Elder Coalition has a visible presence in the community, Seniors’ Night Out is not funded by any city agency. Every dollar goes to the event, and proceeds from the evening benefit Tri-City Elder Coalition's Personal Urgent Need fund. Please help provide a special evening and warm memories for our elderly guests. Escorts fluent in different languages are greatly needed. This special evening is just one of many opportunities available to support and enrich lives for older adults.
