Union City Service Impacts And Closures Due To COVID-19
Effective March 16, 2020, the City of Union City is implementing partial and full closure of several facilities.

To reduce the risk of community spread, the City of Union City continues to evaluate City operations with the goal of limiting exposure and keeping City employees and the public safe. Effective today, March 16, 2020, the City of Union City is implementing partial and full closure of several facilities. Please note that emergency services provided by Police and Fire will not be impacted by these closures.

Partial Closures in Effect
A partial closure means that non-essential services will only be offered via online, by phone or by appointment. Non-essential services in this case refers to planning and building permits, planning inspections, payment of fees and other in-person services that could otherwise be provided over the phone or online.

Closed facilities impacted by these partial closures include:
- City Hall (including Police Front Lobby access) – 34009 Alvarado-Niles Road
- Corporation Yard – 34650 7th Street
- Decoto Resource Center – 505 H Street
- Alvarado Resource Center – 4361 Agena Circle

The partial closure of administrative offices will remain in effect until further notice.

Full Closures in Effect
A full closure means that non-essential services will not be offered and are canceled until further notice. Non-essential services in this case includes recreation programs, which include:
- All Community Centers are closed
- All Community and Recreation Programs are postponed until further notice
These full closures will remain in effect until further notice.

Other Updates on Impacted Services
The Alameda County Library located adjacent to City Hall is closed until Wednesday, April 1.
The New Haven Unified School District has closed its classrooms up through Monday, April 6.
All City Commission and stakeholder outreach meetings are canceled until further notice.
