Union City Traffic Delays On Dyer Street

The street will be repaved, causing delays during the roadwork.

UNION CITY, CA —Dyer Street is going to be repaved and bicycle lanes added, the City of Union City reports.

The project is scheduled from mid-October to November, from Deborah Drive to Alvarado Boulevard.

After the asphalt is repaved, new lane striping, bicycle lanes, and updated parking limits will be marked.

What to Expect During Construction

  • Typical construction work hours will be Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • 'No Parking' signs will be posted on barricades 72 hours prior to work
  • Avoid being towed in 'No Parking' zones by moving cars to driveways or other streets.
  • Expect possible delays and rough driving surfaces. Drive slowly through construction zones.
  • At periods of construction, some traffic lanes will be closed.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
  • Garbage and recycling collection scheduled days should not be affected.

The City said that traffic delays and congestion are not expected to increase following construction.
