Woman Arrested For Attempted Arson At Preschool
The arson attempt was captured on surveillance video. Images from the video were released last week.
UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police have arrested Kristina Romo of Union City for attempted arson. She is accused of trying to start a fire at Safari Kids last year.
On Nov. 27, a woman was caught on surveillance video with a Molotov cocktail at the preschool/daycare in the 32600 block of Alvarado Boulevard. Newark Police released photos of the crime last week, in an attempt to solve a similar crime in Newark. At the time the photos were released, Newark Police noted, "She attempted to light the Molotov however it would not light. The suspect resorted to removing the wick and smashing the glass door to the school with the bottle, leaving the bottle behind after throwing it through the door."
After release of the photos, police received an anonymous tip.
