4 Sought In Fatal Venice Shooting
Four hooded men were seen chasing the 29-year-old victim down the street in the quiet Venice neighborhood.
VENICE, CA —Police are looking for four hooded suspects who gunned down a 29-year-old man Monday afternoon in a quiet Venice neighborhood.
The shooting was reported about 3:30 p.m. in the area of Fifth Avenue and Broadway Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim was shot repeatedly and died at the scene.
"Our victim, who has been identified as 29-year-old Lavell Harris of Los Angeles, was walking on Fifth Avenue near Broadway, two suspects approached him in foot, then they chased him," LAPD Lt. John Radtke said. "He ran northbound on Fifth Avenue, the suspects fired numerous shots at him."

When officers arrived, they found Harris in the parkway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive.
No details about what prompted the killing were immediately available. Harris reportedly lived in the neighborhood where he was killed, and witnesses said they saw four-hooded men flee the scene, theLos Angeles Times reported.

"Homicides in this area are not very common," Radtke said. "This is the first shooting homicide this year."
Witnesses reported a suspect fled in "a shiny sedan," according to the LAPD.
