AltCar Expo is Coming to Town Next Week

Test drive the largest selection of alternative technology vehicles and learn about rebates of up to $10,000.

The City of Santa Monica is pleased to announce the 10th Anniversary AltCar Expo and Ride and Drive, Friday and Saturday September 18-19, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Santa Monica Civic East Wing and Parking Lot.

Admission is FREE and participants have the opportunity to test drive the largest selection of currently available alternative technology vehicles available in one location including electric, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell, natural gas, propane and biodiesel. Product specialists from the manufacturers will be on-site answering questions. Cars available and on display include:

AltCar Expo 2015 also includes informative panels and workshops focusing on the next generation of technology. On Friday, Tony Seba, Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Disruption and Clean Energy at Stanford University will give the keynote address on Clean Disruption: Why Conventional Energy and Transportation with be Obsolete by 2030. And Chris Woodyard, writer/reporter for USA Today, will moderate Automated Vehicles, Uber Autonomous Driving Now.

On Saturday, Susan Carpenter, KPCC host and automotive writer for the Orange County Register, will moderate a panel discussion – Industry Transruption: The ultimate mashup of change is headed our way; alternative transportation, Uber, automated vehicles, car sharing – do we really need cars?
