'Mommy, Help:' Woman Says Call Saved Her Daughter's Life from Rapist

Police allege Samuel Robert Duran Jr., 33, raped an autistic 15-year-old girl who went missing last month.

A Culver City man was arrested today on suspicion of raping a 15-year-old autistic girl who went missing last month, authorities said.

Samuel Robert Duran Jr., 33, was booked on suspicion of multiple counts of rape and was held on $8 million bail, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.

“At this time, detectives are still investigating the circumstances of how Duran and the victim met,” according to an LAPD statement.

The teen disappeared March 24 from her home in the 11200 block of Westminster Avenue in Mar Vista, and police had sought public help to find her. She was found on Monday, and several people were detained by LAPD investigators while an investigation was conducted.
