Man to Be Charged in Deadly Mar Vista Shooting During Fight Over Loud Music

A 40-year-old suspected gang member was arrested this week in connection with a Valentines Day shooting.

Arraignment is scheduled for tomorrow for a 40-year- old gang member suspected in a fatal shooting in Mar Vista stemming from a dispute over loud music.

Joe Coronado was arrested Tuesday in Banning on a murder warrant by an FBI-Los Angeles Police Department task force team in connection with a fatal shooting Feb. 14, authorities said.

Police officers were called to the 4800 block of Marionwood Drive in Mar Vista about 11:05 p.m. on Feb. 14, authorities said.

There police found two shooting victims -- Calvin Johnson, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. A second victim went to a hospital with non-life- threatening injuries.

Bail for Coronado was set at $2.04 million. He will be arraigned at the Airport Courthouse. Anyone with more information on the killing was asked to call detectives at (213) 382-9470.
