Man Wounded In Another Drive-By Shooting At Venice Homeless Camp

A homeless man was shot Monday at the exact same underpass camp that was targeted for a driveby in July.

VENICE, CA —A search continued Tuesday for suspects in a homeless camp shooting that left one man injured in Venice. It's the second shooting targeting a homeless man at that same corner in less than a year.

The shooters were last seen in a newer model dark sedan heading westbound on Venice Boulevard near Globe Avenue stopped about 3:20 p.m. Monday, according to police. The passenger's side door opened. The shooter fired a single shot at the victim, hitting him in the left shoulder, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, a man in his 30s, is expected to survive, police said.

The shooter got back into the vehicle and sped away westbound on Venice Boulevard, police said.

The suspect or suspects appeared to recognize the victim and targeted him, police said.

In July of 2018, the same camera captured another shooting involving two men who pull up to the encampment and opened fired.
