META SoCal Food Fest Honoring LA Latino Youth

Many Hispanic students in Southern California earn good grades and score well enough on their SATs to become the first in their family to attend a four-year college. Unfortunately, many of these students do not get the financial aid funding necessary to actually attend college.

Since 2000, the META (Making Education the Answer) Foundation has provided over 100 scholarships and mentorship to Hispanic students in Southern California to increase college graduation rates. This year, with the the help of a META Scholarship, 32 students will be attending colleges across the country and receiving scholarships totaling nearly $80,000.

If you are interested in learning more about these students or META, I invite you to attend the SoCal Street Fest this Saturday, June 21st to honor the 2014 META scholarship recipients. For more information, please visit www.meta-foundation.org or call Charissa Gonzales at 310.370.7676 or email at charissa@meta-foundation.org
