New Mexican Takeout From Gjusta Creators Opens In Venice: Valle
Gjelina Group announced its first Mexican take out concept Valle is open this month on Abbot Kinney in Venice.
VENICE, CA — Gjelina Group announced Tuesday that its Oaxacan-inspired pop-up Valle is open at its MTN location on Abbot Kinney in Venice. The location's doors were open Wednesday with a selection of tacos, small plates, ceviche, braised and grilled meats for takeout all created by Gjelina Group Chefs.
Valle started serving the Venice community Wednesday at 1305 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
Valle is a Mexican restaurant that's inspired mostly by food from the state of Oaxaca, where the two collaborating chefs are originally from, Max Dornbush, a buyer with Gjelina Restaurant Group, told Patch.

"There's large format meals for two or four people - juicy and savory Pollo Adobado, rich and spicy lamb barbacoa, some small plates like squash blossom quesadillas with the fragrant herb epazote or mole amarillo with chayote (Mexican squash), and of course, there's tacos," Dornbushsaid.
Right now, the group is focused on takeout orders. There is a plan for the future, when people can return to restaurants after the pandemic.

"We plan on running it at least until the Mayor reopens the city's restaurants for dine-in, at that point, we will assess what the next direction is for Valle/MTN and our group. That's going to be a few weeks more, at least," Dornbush told Patch.
"In our continued efforts to evolve while serving the Venice community, we are excited to be opening our first Mexican take out concept Valle (Vye-A), within our MTN location," the group announced on Venice's Gjusta Bakery's Instagram.
"An overwhelming majority of our staff have shown tremendous interest and pride to offer a style of food they hold as their roots," the group announced, adding that they plan to follow safety protocols and health guidelines.
Valle is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. daily. You can order takeout either through walk up, phone in or on the Toast app via mtnvenice.com. Curbside pickup is available. Call (424) 465-3313.
