Photos: Venice Community Gathers At Garden To Protest
Locals met at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice to protest Tuesday.
VENICE, CA — More than 100 people met up at the community garden at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice Tuesday to demand justice for George Floyd and an end to police brutality.
A group of scholars and speakers shared their stories and experiences with the group under the hot sun at the community garden cultivated by Safe Place For Youth on Shell Avenue.
Cyclists pulled up to join the crowd as cars drove by honking along Venice Boulevard.

"Nothing is the same anymore," Dr. Bob Myers said. "I value your time and attention."
Poet Conney Williams shared a poem. He grew up in a neighborhood in the South that was separated, half black and half white, he said.

"I've seen a lot of things change but in a lot of ways they've stayed the same," Williams said.
