Sculpting in Clay: A Workshop With Ceramic Artist Anne Geiler

Join us for a demonstration and mini-workshop led by Carlsbad, California-based ceramic artist Anne Geiler, whose sculptures focusing on female beauty across the life span and anthropomorphic expressions of human emotions were recently featured in the Lark 500 Series Figures in Clay, Volume II.

During the workshop, Anne will share her approach to sculpting a form out of a solid block of clay. She will demonstrate how to halve and hollow the inside of a piece, and how to seamlessly meld it in preparation for firing.

Anne will lead participants in the development of an original hand-built sculptural work. All levels are welcome and no experience is necessary. A basic set of tools will be provided. Firing fees will be calculated based on the dimensions of the piece.
