Security Guard Fatally Shoots Stabbing Suspect In Mar Vista

MAR VISTA, CA — A security guard Wednesday fatally shot a man who allegedly stabbed him at a construction site in Mar Vista.

The shooting occurred about 12:05 p.m. near the intersection of Inglewood Boulevard and Charnock Road, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department.

A man with a knife allegedly approached the security guard when the altercation happened, KTLA reports. The guard was reportedly stabbed several times and chased the suspect and shot him. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The guard was being treated for his injuries, but there was no immediate word on his condition.
