LOVING OLD BOOKS AN EVENING TALK WITH STEPHANIE GIBBS THIS SUNDAY

Stephanie is presenting a talk at BookArtsLA about the care and special considerations for old books. Ms Gibbs is conservator, book enthusiast, expert about vellum, historical bibles, leather bindings and much more.

Stephanie is currently Bookbinder in Residence at the International Museum of Printing in Carson, CA, and operates her private bookbinding and conservation business out of the Book Arts Annex. SINGLE SHEET SEWING - Sunday, April 17 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Single Sheet Sewing is a modified Coptic stitch using multiple needles. Developed by Keith Smith, this versatile binding is a must for book artists because the open book lays completely flat.
