• Man convicted of murder in Victorville Galleria shooting (vvdailypress.com) — A Victorville man has been convicted of murder in the 2024 shooting that killed another local resident inside the Victorville Galleria shopping center on Palmdale Road. Jurors also found him guilty of firearm charges, and he’s scheduled for sentencing in July at the Victorville courthouse. 
• Phelan Man Sentenced In Fatal Victorville Hit-And-Run That Killed Pedestrian (vvng.com) — A Phelan man has been sentenced to four years in state prison for a hit-and-run on Bear Valley Road in Victorville that killed local resident William Castro Vargas in 2025. Investigators say he fled after striking the pedestrian, and DUI-related charges were later dismissed as part of a plea to felony hit-and-run causing death.
• Kaiser Permanente and Providence St. Mary announce collaboration (fontanaheraldnews.com) — Victorville Kaiser Permanente members now benefit from a tighter partnership with Providence St. Mary Medical Center, aimed at delivering seamless, around‑the‑clock inpatient care in the High Desert. Kaiser physicians cover daytime hospital care while St. Mary and Sound Physicians handle nights, with coordinated handoffs and expanded case management so Victorville, Hesperia, and Apple Valley patients receive consistent standards close to home.
