Prosecutors say his blood alcohol level was about double the legal limit before two good Samaritans were fatally struck while helping after the crash.
   

• Man Sentenced 26 Years For Stabbing MTS Bus Driver In Escondido (patch.com) — A violent bus stabbing case tied to an Escondido transit stop has now resulted in a 26‑year state prison sentence, handed down in Vista. Prosecutors say the attacker repeatedly stabbed an MTS driver after being denied a free ride, and local officials are warning that assaults on transportation workers are on the rise.
