18|8 Fine Men's Salon Opens in Walnut Creek

Local Entrepreneurial Couple Opening Second of Three 18|8 Salons in Contra Costa County

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon, a national brand reinventing the male grooming experience, opened its newest location in Walnut Creek earlier this month.

“18|8 Salons are catered toward meeting the specific needs of men” said Kara Davidson, one of the owners and operators of the new 18|8 location at 1576 Botelho Drive. “We are dedicated to transforming men to help them look and perform their best. Our staff consists of professionals who can give men the proper advice, styles and guidance they deserve while relaxing in an environment in which they feel at ease.”

Once inside an 18|8 salon, men can decompress in the brand’s signature lounge area before their grooming services, which include cuts, styling, straight edge hot lather shaves, facials, massages, scalp treatments, manicures and more.

Services are moderately priced in the $32 to $45 range. The 18|8 team takes the time to learn about its clients, their personalities and special needs, and then tailors services to fit their specific desires. Customers may even purchase memberships that cover prepaid hair and grooming services.

“We are so excited to be opening our second 18|8 Fine Men’s Salon in Walnut Creek,” said Samer Alami, Davidson’s husband and business partner. “Every individual that has walked into our stylish, modern facility, have quickly realized this is not an ordinary hair salon, but a chance to retreat from the outside world.”

Alami brings to 18|8 a strong professional background as an executive in the technology industry. Jointly, the couple brandish complementary skill sets that will serve the growth of the 18|8 Fine Men’s Salons well in the area. They also are active in the community, volunteering for locally-based organizations, including the Lafayette Juniors, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to support other non-profits serving individuals in need in the Contra Costa County area.

“Kara and Samer have proven to be the right entrepreneurs we’ve been looking for to help continue to grow the brand throughout Contra Costa County,” said Scott Griffiths, founder and CEO of 18|8 Fine Men’s Salons. “Their business acumen is outstanding. They both recognize that there is an unfilled niche locally and a strong demand for this salon brand.”
